Hyderabad, Sept. 23: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed officials to remain alert after heavy rain lashed Hyderabad on Tuesday evening.
He instructed the three municipal corporations, HYDRAA and police commissioners to coordinate closely and monitor the situation.
Officials were asked to prevent waterlogging on major roads, junctions and residential colonies. They were also told to deploy staff and machinery in affected areas.
Revanth Reddy Orders Action in Flood Prone Areas
The Chief Minister directed the Energy Department to prevent power outages. He also asked the Traffic Police to take proactive steps to avoid congestion.
Revanth Reddy told officials to focus on low lying areas and colonies vulnerable to flooding.
He ordered special teams to clear blockages in drains and stormwater channels. Rescue teams were also asked to remain ready for emergencies.
Control rooms were directed to stay vigilant, while field officials were asked to remain available and monitor conditions.
“Officials must be available on the ground to monitor the situation. Take all necessary measures and ensure people do not face any inconvenience,” Revanth Reddy said.
Meanwhile, HYDRAA disaster response teams cleared waterlogging, blocked drains and fallen trees at several locations after the rain.
