Hyderabad, Sept. 23 (Maxim News): A 22-year-old POCSO case accused, who was lodged at Chanchalguda Central Jail, has reportedly died by suicide after escaping from the Institute of Mental Health at Erragadda.
The deceased was identified as Kishore Kumar Reddy from Nandimalla village in Amarchintha mandal of Wanaparthy district. He was reportedly shifted from Chanchalguda Jail to the Erragadda mental health facility for medical treatment.
According to police, Kishore escaped from the hospital on Monday after seeking permission to use the toilet. He allegedly fled through a ventilator before hospital authorities noticed that he was missing. Police registered a case and launched a search.
POCSO Accused Kishore Had Escaped From Jail Earlier
Kishore had earlier escaped from Mahbubnagar District Jail in July while facing a POCSO case. Police said he scaled the prison compound wall before fleeing.
After reaching his native area, he allegedly attempted suicide by consuming pesticide and was subsequently taken into custody. Reports at the time said police suspected he had escaped to meet his partner.
According to the latest local reports, Kishore returned to his native village after escaping from the Erragadda hospital. He was allegedly found hanging from a tree near the village lake on Wednesday.
The circumstances surrounding his reported death are under investigation. Local reports have suggested a possible relationship-related issue, but the motive has not been officially established.
Police are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding his escape from the hospital and his subsequent death. (Maxim News)
