Hyderabad, Sept. 23: The BJP has appointed Sunil Bansal as its new in charge for Telangana as part of a major organisational reshuffle.
Bansal has also been given responsibility for West Bengal, according to the appointments announced by BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Wednesday.
Abhay Patil and Rekha Sharma have been appointed as co in charges for Telangana.
The BJP announced new in charges and co in charges for 28 states and eight Union Territories. The appointments take immediate effect.
Sunil Bansal Gets Charge of Telangana and Bengal
Bansal has previously handled organisational responsibilities in Telangana and West Bengal. He was earlier the BJP general secretary in charge of both states.
For West Bengal, Lal Singh Arya, Rajendra Singh and Pinky Kushwaha have been appointed as co in charges.
The BJP has also made changes in several other states. Smriti Irani has been appointed in charge of Haryana and Chhattisgarh.
Vinod Tawde will oversee Uttar Pradesh, while Baijayant Jay Panda has been appointed Maharashtra in charge.
Ram Madhav has been given charge of Uttarakhand, with Arvind Menon and Bansuri Swaraj as co in charges.
The party has also appointed Anil Baluni as coordinator of its communication department. Ashish Usha Agarwal has been given charge as convenor of the national media department.
