Naidu Continues His SCS Demand, Accuses Centre Of Doing Gross Injustice To AP
Andhra Pradesh, June 17 (Maxim News): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today strongly put forth his points in NITI Aayog meeting alleging that the Centre has done gross injustice to his residual Andhra Pradesh State.
Chandrababu Naidu, who encountered for the first time with Prime Minister Narendra Modi after snapping his ties with the NDA, raised a host of issues, including the Centre’s denial to grant special category status to Andhra Pradesh which was the contentious issue between the Centre and AP. Naidu asked the Centre to fulfil all its promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act. The promises include adequate funds to meet revenue deficit, completion of Polavaram project, acquisition of land for the project, rehabilitation of the displaced and funds for building the State capital Amaravati.
While listing out his demands, Chandrababu Naidu said his State was in the path of development on its own, GST and demonetization decisions have affected the State’s interest. The Centre has failed to resolve problems arose after announcement of demonetization which created acute scarcity of currency, he alleged. Each chief minister was allotted seven minutes to address the meeting. But Chanrababu Naidu continued his speech beyond 20 minutes until Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh asked him to complete his speech as he has already crossed the time limits. In spite of interruption by the Home Minister, Chandrababu Naidu continued his speech for 20 minutes.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar supported the demand of special category status of Chandrababu Naidu. He also wanted the same for his Bihar State. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Benerji too supported another demand of Chandrababu Naidu not to take into consideration of 2011 population. (Maxim News)
