Wreath Laying Ceremony Held On The Occasion Of Vijay Diwas
Hyderabad, 16 Dec 2018 (Maxim News): The Republic of India proudly celebrates its Victory Day as “Vijay Diwas” on 16 December every year since 1971.
On this day in the year 1971, India achieved a decisive victory over East Pakistan, in a war that the Indian Armed Forces planned, executed and carried out with precision resulting in capture of over 93000 Prisoners of War and liberation of Bangladesh. This year again “Vijay Diwas” was celebrated today throughout the Nation to commemorate the 47th Anniversary of the historic victory. As part of Vijay Diwas Celebrations, a wreath laying ceremony was organised at Veerula Sainik Smarak, Secunderabad today. The event was attended by a large number of officers and soldiers. The event began with laying of wreath by the junior most soldier followed by Senior Army Officers of the station. Brigadier MD Upadhyay, Station Commander and Brigadier JJS Bhinder, Commandant of AOC Centre on behalf of General Officer Commanding, Telangana and Andhra Sub Area laid wreaths to pay homage to the martyrs.
