Hyderabad, Nov.23 (Maxim News): CPI Telangana State secretary and former MLA Chada Venkat Reddy today expressed concern over the government’s move to close down some 12,000 schools in the State, according to some media reports.
In a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the CPI leader asked the Chief Minister to protect interests of SC, ST, BC and Minorities students studying in government schools. Even Supreme Court had asked the States to focus on education to these sections, which are ought to get it as per Constitution, he said.
“If the government ignored the Right To Education Act, some 5,000 schools are set to close in the State and it is time for providing equipment and facilities in the government schools”, he added. Venkat Reddy urged the State government to avoid such steps to close down its schools. (Maxim News)
