Donors donates Vegetables Worth Rs. 120 Cr To TTDs Annaprasadam Dept In Last 15 Years

Tirumala, Dec.5 (Maxim News): Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Annaprasadam department had received Rs. 120 crore worth Vegetables from the donors during the last 15 years, Additional Executive Officer AV Dharma Reddy said here today

Talking to reporters after holding a review meeting with vegetable donors was held at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Thursday. AV Reddy said, the concept of the vegetable donation was mulled by him in 2005 when he was the Special Officer of TTD. Since then onwards till today nearly Rs. 115-120crores worth vegetable donations have been poured in for TTD. In 2018-19, about 1572 tonnes have been donated while from April till November this year, nearly 1200 tonnes have been received so far”, he added.

He said henceforth a meeting will be held with all the major vegetable donors once in every two months. We also informed them to gather small donors in their respective places so that we will go and address them as a thanksgiving gesture”, he maintained.

The Additional EO also said, the donors from AP, TS, TN and Karnataka have been contributing about two dozen varieties of vegetables and they have now agreed to give 36 varieties. Even the Rice Millers Association have also donated about 55tonnes of rice in the last two months”, he said.

Later he felicitated all the vegetable donors with the prasadam of Lord and a shawl. (Maxim News)
