VH To Call All-Parties Meet On Reinstallation Of Ambedkar Statue At Punjagutta Crossroad

Hyderabad, Feb.21 (Maxim News): Congress leader VH said he would hold an all-party meeting to discuss issue of installation of BR Ambedkar statue at Punjagutta crossroads. He said the meeting would be held at Somajiguda press club on Saturday.

VH addressed an open letter to all the leaders of the political parties. In his letter, he said the police had stopped the activists of Jai Bhim Organization from installing the statue on April 12 last year. Hurt at this, he, along with other party leaders like Bollu Kishan and Ramulu Naik staged a protest demanding that the government allow installation of Ambedkar statue immediately. He said he was arrested for staging a dharna for re-installation of the statue.

He said he got another statue of Ambedkar and tried to install the statue on June 18, 2019. Again he was stopped by the police from his efforts and took away the statue in a lorry and kept it at Goshamahal police station. Rao said they would discuss the issue again and chalk out their future course of action to install the statue at the same place.(Maxim News)
