Hyderabad, Oct. 16: Hyderabad woke up to a cloudy Saturday and as the day progressed, rains started to lash most parts of the city.
Several localities of the city received light to moderate rains and Hayathnagar received 37.8 mm rain till afternoon, followed by Asifnagar which received 34.3 mm rainfall.
According to India Meteorological Department- Hyderabad, a low pressure has formed in west-central Bay of Bengal. Due to this, several parts of Telangana are likely to receive moderate to heavy rains on Saturday and Sunday. Heavy to very heavy rains are likely in one or two places in Adilabad, Kumram Bheem-Asifabad and Nirmal districts of Telangana.
The authorities have issued a Yellow alert for the city. As per the forecast by Telangana State Development Planning Society, most parts of the city will receive rainfall between 15.6 mm to 64.5 mm. However, the western parts, including Serilingampally and Jubilee Hills is likely to receive up to 115.6 mm rainfall.
Meanwhile, several districts of Telangana have also been receiving heavy rainfall. Districts including Kumram Bheem-Asifabad, Rangareddy, Medak and Rajanna Sircilla have received up to 66 mm rainfall. Nagaram in Suryapet received the highest rainfall of 88.8 mm.
