Andhra Pradesh on the third position in implementing Amrit Sarovar mission

Andhra, July 21: In the country-wide implementation of the “Amrit Sarovar” initiative run by the federal government, Andhra Pradesh has moved up to the third place. It is well known that on April 24 of this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally inaugurated this program with the intention of creating at least 75 ponds in each district of the nation in honor of the culmination of the nation’s 75-year period of independence. These ponds will be constructed in order to store 10,000 cubic meters of water over a space of at least one acre.

Through this scheme, the Andhra government hopes to create and develop 2,890 ponds under the supervision of all state departments, surpassing the intended goal. 1,809 ponds are already under construction. By August of next year, the ponds should be fully constructed. By August 15 of this year, according to Shanti Priya Pandey, Special Commissioner of the Panchayat Raj-Rural Development Department, 399 ponds will have been built.

Andhra Pradesh state finished 181 on Wednesday, placing it third behind Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, according to information on a special website maintained by the federal government. The state was ranked 13th in the nation when this programme originally started, but it has since climbed to the third spot. The completion of the ponds in the Amrit Sarovar programme will receive special attention, according to officials, who revealed that Chief Secretary Sameer Sharma will oversee weekly reviews of this issue with the heads of departments and district collectors. On August 15, the finished ponds will host the national flag unveiling ceremony.
