Kolkata/Hyderabad, May 31 (Maxim News): After the results of the Assembly Elections, a series of attacks on Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders continues in West Bengal. The series of attacks on TMC leaders is causing a stir. The day after the attack on party leader and Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee, another TMC MP was attacked on Sunday morning. Some people attacked him in his own constituency.
Going into details, the incident took place while MP Kalyan Banerjee was touring Chandithal in Hooghly district. While the security personnel were trying to control the crowd, some people hit him on the head. Due to this unexpected development, he fell down holding his head. There was extreme tension there due to this incident. Before the attack, some people showed black flags to Kalyan Banerjee and shouted slogans like ‘Chor Chor‘ (thief, thief).
Similar scenes were witnessed during Abhishek Banerjee’s visit to Sonarpur in South 24 Parganas district on Saturday. His visit too was met with opposition from the people, who chanted slogans like ‘Chor Chor’. The similar attacks and protests against two key TMC leaders in a span of two days have become a hot topic in state politics. (Maxim News)
