Hyderabad, June 25 (Maxim News): AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should accept the reported invitation from Iran to attend the funeral of its late Supreme Leader, saying such a visit would send a strong diplomatic message to the Global South.
Speaking at the same press conference, Owaisi said India should maintain its independent foreign policy and engage with all countries while protecting national interests. He said the Prime Minister’s presence in Iran would underline India’s strategic autonomy.
Owaisi also criticised Israel and the United States over the ongoing conflict in Gaza, alleging that both countries had triggered the crisis and worsened the humanitarian situation. He said thousands of children had been killed or injured and described the conditions in Gaza as catastrophic.
The AIMIM chief further accused India of investing too much diplomatic capital in its relationship with Israel in recent years. He said India had traditionally maintained balanced ties in West Asia and should continue to follow that approach.(Maxim News)
