Ashwathama Slams Govt For “Bogus” Details On RTC

Hyderabad, Oct.29 (Maxim News): TSRTC JAC convener Ashwathama Reddy today criticized the State government saying it gave “bogus” details to High Court on RTC arrears and other financial issues.

Talking to mediapersons here after the court hearing in the strike case, Reddy slammed the KCR Government for coming up with wrong information on the RTC. He said the High Court slammed the State government for failing to give complete details on arrears, ED committee report and related matters. He accused the government of misinforming the High Court and public on the strike and financial issues.

As per bifurcation norms, the Telangana Government has to pay its share of 42% funds to the RTC while AP has to pay 52 percent to it out of Rs 1,099 crore arrears from 2009 to 2014, he added. The JAC convener also said the State government was not ready to give Rs 1,375 crore for bus passes’ subsidy and Rs 1,496 crore from Municipal Act. Despite trying to evade this in the court, the State officials were talking of giving more funds to the ailing RTC, he fumed. He accused the government of adopting arm-twisting methods towards the striking workers instead of finding a lasting solution.

“When our advocate sought, the government counsel urged time to give its details”, he said. The government was not prepared to give correct details to the court, he charged. He also asked the TRS Government as to why it failed to give its share to RTC so far. “The court gave us permission to hold Sakala Janula Samarabheri at Saroornagar stadium on October 30 from 3 pm to 5 pm”, he said and appealed to RTC workers to be courageous and fight for their demands.
