Bank Of Baroda To Celebrate “Baroda Kisan Diwas” From Today

Hyderabad, Sept.30 (Maxim News): Coinciding with ‘World Food Day‘, Bank of Baroda will commemorate October 16 as ‘Baroda Kisan Diwas‘ celebrating the spirit and vigor of the country’s farming fraternity, a top BoB official said.

This will be part of a unique initiative, Baroda Kisan Pakhwada, being held from October 1 to 16 across the bank’s 9,500 branches pan-India, 5,482. Hyderabad Zone has 480 branches across both States, in which 228 Rural and Semi-Urban branches are catering banking services mainly to the farmers, P. Sreenivas, General Manager and Zonal Head, said.

This initiative is expected to augment the government’s efforts to increase the farmer’s income and double it by 2022, he said, adding that “By engaging more with the farming community during the Pakhwada, we want to increase their knowledge levels on the latest farming trends and improve their awareness on BoB products.”

The BoB has as many as 11 products (Baroda Kisan Credit Card (BKCC), SHGs/JLGs, Gold Loan, allied agriculture activities, farm mechanization, FPO/FPCs, Food & Agro processing Units etc. along with other products for SME, Retail Banking, Liability & Wealth Management products) focused on the farming community at friendly terms, and the Pakhwada initiative is aimed at encouraging them to use these products, he said.
