Big Relief For Smita Sabharwal In High Court Orders Not To Take Any Action On PC Ghosh Commission Report

Hyderabad, Sept 25 (Maxim News): IAS officer Smita Sabharwal got relief from the Telangana High Court. The Court has issued orders not to take any action based on the PC Ghosh Commissioner report on Kaleshwaram.

The High Court has taken up the matter along with the petitions already filed claiming that the commission did not seek her explanation. The Telangana High Court has adjourned the next hearing to October 7th.

Meanwhile, the High Court heard Smita Sabharwal’s petition today (Thursday). Smita Sabharwal filed a petition seeking quashing of the PC Ghosh Commission report. Smita Sabharwal alleged that she was not asked for an explanation during the investigation into Kaleshwaram and that 8B and 8C notices were not given. However, the PC Ghosh Commission mentioned Smita Sabharwal’s actions in the report.

The Ghosh Commission said that Smita Sabharwal had reviewed the Kaleshwaram constructions. The PC Ghosh Commission accused Smita Sabharwal of repeatedly sending feedback from some districts to the then CM KCR.

The Commission recalled that Smita Sabharwal had visited the three barrages on several occasions as Special Secretary to the Chief Minister’s Office. The Commission said that Smita Sabharwal played a key role in issuing administrative permissions for Kaleshwaram. The PC Ghosh Commission report stated that action should be taken against Smita Sabharwal for not presenting the facts before the Cabinet.(Maxim News)
