Bomb Threat Letter to Namasthe Telangana Under Probe

Bomb Threat Letter | Hyderabad, July 6 (Maxim News): The Banjara Hills Police have registered a criminal case after Namasthe Telangana newspaper received an anonymous letter containing bomb threats against media organisations, journalists, YouTubers, and their family members.

The case was registered following directions from the III Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Nampally, and an investigation is now underway.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the complaint was filed by Satukuri Madhusuda, HR Manager of Telangana Publications Pvt. Ltd., which publishes Namasthe Telangana. He informed the police that the publication received the anonymous letter through post on June 23, 2026.

The letter reportedly carried the slogan “Jai Revanthanna Jai Congress” and contained threats targeting journalists, media owners, and management over reports related to alleged land encroachments and criticism of the Telangana government.

Bomb Threat Letter Under Investigation

According to the complaint, the anonymous letter claimed that a group had hired terrorists from Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and planted bombs at the offices of news channels, e-paper organisations, and YouTubers. It further threatened to detonate the explosives simultaneously.

In addition, the letter allegedly used abusive language and extended death threats to the family members of journalists and media professionals. Consequently, the communication raised serious concerns about public safety and security.

Following the court’s directions, the Banjara Hills Police registered a case under Section 351(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with criminal intimidation. Thereafter, investigators began examining the source of the anonymous letter and verifying the bomb threat claims.

Meanwhile, police officials said the investigation remains in progress. However, they have not found any evidence so far to confirm the claims made in the threatening letter.

Authorities are examining postal records and other available evidence to identify the sender. At the same time, they are assessing whether the threats were genuine or intended to create panic among media organisations.

The police have urged the public to remain calm while the investigation continues. They also assured that appropriate action will be taken once the inquiry reaches a conclusion.
