Bomb Threat To Several States Across The Country

Delhi/Hyderabad, April 6 (Maxim News): Bomb threat emails are being received in several states, including the national capital, causing a stir. Threat emails have been received in several educational institutions and government offices in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. Security personnel of the respective states have been alerted and have intensified checks. Search operations have been carried out with dog squad teams. Threat emails were received in Ramjas College and Miranda House of Delhi University today (Monday).

The alerted college staff informed the police. Delhi Police, bomb disposal teams and dog squads, who immediately reached the spot, are conducting a thorough inspection of the campuses. The Delhi Mayor’s office also received a threatening e-mail. The authorities were alerted after a message was sent at around 2:11 pm today that the office of Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh would be blown up. Several schools in Chandigarh and some parts of Punjab also received threatening emails this morning. The Punjab and Haryana secretariats and the Ferozepur district court received threatening emails.

Security teams immediately rushed to the spot after receiving information from the authorities. Bomb disposal teams were deployed at all the places. Intensive checks were carried out. However, the police suspect that a person belonging to a group calling itself the Khalistan National Army sent the emails. Senior police officials revealed that cyber experts are currently working to find out where the emails came from. (Maxim News)
