Hyderabad, Sept. 28: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has begun preparations for the Khairatabad Assembly bypoll and two Graduate MLC elections ahead of the official poll schedules.
The party has started assessing its organisational strength and potential candidates for the Khairatabad bypoll. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has begun voter registration for the Graduate MLC elections scheduled for March next year.
BRS Focuses on Khairatabad Bypoll and Graduate MLC Elections
The Supreme Court’s dismissal of former BRS MLA Danam Nagender’s challenge to his disqualification has cleared the way for the Khairatabad bypoll. The Telangana High Court disqualified Nagender, with the order taking effect on April 23, 2024. He had joined the Congress and contested the Secunderabad Lok Sabha election while serving as a BRS MLA.
BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao and working president KT Rama Rao have discussed the bypoll strategy. Their discussions covered candidate selection, organisational mobilisation and local issues.
The party is also planning division-wise assessments and coordination with local leaders. It aims to strengthen its organisation and reach voters before the election notification.
