Hyderabad, Sept. 28 (Maxim News): Danam Nagender, whose disqualification as Khairatabad MLA was upheld by the Apex Court, expressed confidence that Congress will win the upcoming bypoll in the constituency with a result that will shock opponents.
Danam Nagender was speaking at a Congress protest rally on Necklace Road, where party workers demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Nagender said party workers in Khairatabad are energised and working with enthusiasm. He said neither the SIR process nor any other political influence will affect the constituency. He said Congress will win the bypoll in a manner that no one expects.
On the Election Commission, Nagender alleged that the BJP is using the poll body to carry out large-scale vote theft. He made a sensational claim that Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy won his parliamentary seat only through vote theft. He demanded that CEC Gyanesh Kumar resign immediately, saying he is undermining democracy and the election process.
Nagender Urges Supreme Court to Take Suo Motu Action Against CEC Over Election Process
Nagender also urged the Supreme Court to take suo motu cognisance of what he described as the CEC’s conduct and initiate appropriate action. He said the highest court must step in to protect democratic values and the integrity of elections.
These are allegations made by Nagender at a political rally. The Election Commission of India and Union Minister Kishan Reddy had not responded to these claims at the time of this report. (Maxim News)
