Addressing the media in New Delhi, Kishan Reddy said cooperative federalism is essential for the country’s development. He added that the Central Government has supported Singareni Collieries over the past 12 years through faster environmental and forest clearances for major mining projects.

He said Singareni currently operates 39 mines, including 21 underground and 18 opencast mines, spread across six to eight districts of Telangana. He described the company as the lifeline of lakhs of people and acknowledged the contribution of Singareni workers to the Telangana movement.

The Union Minister said the Centre facilitated the allocation of the Naini coal block in Odisha to Singareni. He stated that the block holds around 340 million tonnes of coal reserves, enough for 30 to 35 years of mining.

According to him, the Naini block has the capacity to produce 10 million tonnes of coal annually and could generate revenue of nearly Rs 75,000 crore over its operational life.

Kishan Reddy also said the Centre has taken a final decision to allocate the Tadicherla 2 coal block to Singareni. He said the block contains around 182 million tonnes of coal reserves and can produce six million tonnes annually for the next 40 to 50 years.

He added that the Tadicherla 2 block could generate more than Rs 64,000 crore in revenue. Since the block was allotted directly, Singareni would save about Rs 2,550 crore by avoiding auction premium payments.
