Chicken Prices Rising Again? Fear of Bird Flu Fades

Hyderabad, Mar 9 (Maxim News): People in the Telugu states are slowly moving past the fear of bird flu. When the news of bird flu cases spread, many stopped eating and buying chicken. However, free chicken fairs helped reassure people that chicken was safe to eat.

Now, with no new cases reported for weeks, chicken sales are picking up again. As a result, prices seem to be stabilizing.

Since today is Sunday, when many families prefer non-vegetarian meals, the demand for chicken has increased even more.

Chicken Prices in Telugu States

In Telangana, the price of skinless chicken per kg is around ₹160 – ₹180 in Hyderabad and Adilabad, while in Khammam, it’s ₹150 – ₹170.

In Andhra Pradesh, the price is ₹200 per kg in Vijayawada, ₹170 – ₹190 in Kakinada, and ₹190 in Visakhapatnam.

With prices returning to normal, it’s clear that people are no longer afraid of bird flu. Now, it remains to be seen whether chicken sales will fully recover and shops will be buzzing with customers again. (Maxim News)
