Vikarabad: Tension prevailed in Vikarabad district after the death of a child undergoing treatment at a private hospital triggered protests by family members, who alleged medical negligence by doctors.
According to the family, the child was admitted to Mahaveer Hospital after falling ill. They alleged that no senior doctor was available at the hospital at the time of treatment.
The parents claimed that a junior doctor on duty treated the child after consulting a senior doctor over the phone. According to the allegations, treatment decisions were made based on instructions given remotely without the senior doctor personally examining the patient.
The family alleged that the child’s condition deteriorated during treatment and that the child later died due to medical negligence.
Following the death, grieving family members and relatives gathered outside the hospital and staged a protest, demanding accountability from the hospital management and medical staff.
The protesters raised slogans against the hospital and insisted that those responsible for the alleged negligence be brought to justice. They reportedly refused to disperse until appropriate action was taken.
Police reached the hospital after receiving information about the protest and attempted to pacify the agitated family members.
Authorities are gathering details about the incident, while the victim’s family has demanded a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
The family has called for a comprehensive inquiry into the treatment provided to the child and has sought strict action if any negligence is established.
