According to reports, CJI Surya Kant advised the Opposition leaders to approach the court through a petition. The issues they intended to raise are reportedly already under consideration by the Supreme Court.

The CJI reportedly said the court could not meet a political party’s delegation through an administrative arrangement. He stressed that the judiciary’s role is to hear petitions and deliver judgments.
