New Delhi, June 6: The Cockroach Janata Party on Friday demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, alleging irregularities in entrance and recruitment examinations and seeking reforms in the education system.
The party organized a protest at Jantar Mantar to highlight issues faced by students and press for changes in examination and recruitment processes.
CJP Demands Education Reforms and Accountability
The protest was led by CJP founder Abhijeet Deepke and attended by environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk along with supporters from different parts of the country.
Addressing the gathering, Deepke said the movement would continue until the government addressed the concerns raised by students. He alleged that examination irregularities and paper leaks had adversely affected thousands of aspirants across the country.
He also claimed that the organization had been raising these issues for several months and called for greater accountability in the education sector. During the event, Deepke paid tribute to students who allegedly lost their lives amid academic and examination-related pressures.
Wangchuk supported the demand for reforms in the education system and called for measures aimed at improving educational standards and accountability. However, he clarified that he had no intention of entering active politics.
Several participants urged Wangchuk to take a larger role in education policy discussions. In response, he said young people should take the lead in bringing positive change to the system.
The activist also welcomed permission granted for the protest and said democratic platforms should be used to raise public concerns peacefully.
Organizers announced that the next phase of the agitation is planned for June 23 at Ramlila Maidan, where they intend to continue pressing for education reforms and accountability in examination processes.
