Releasing the annual report on Wednesday, the SP said effective policing and preventive measures contributed to the reduction in crime.

Chandana stated that railway police rescued 500 children during the year, reflecting focused efforts on child safety. Meanwhile, she reported that 1,317 deaths were recorded across the jurisdiction.

To address safety concerns, especially in suicide prone areas, the railway police installed fencing at identified locations. These measures, she said, helped reduce vulnerable access points along railway tracks.

SP Chandana Deepti said the railway police seized 810 kilograms of ganja in 2025. Under the NDPS Act, officials registered 54 cases and arrested 70 accused.

In addition, police seized drugs worth Rs 12.25 crore through coordinated operations by the Government Railway Police.

She further stated that police recovered 1,322 lost or stolen mobile phones during the year. These recoveries, she noted, helped passengers regain property and improved public confidence in railway policing.

The annual report highlighted strengthened surveillance, targeted enforcement, and inter agency coordination.

Railway police officials said such measures would continue in 2026 to further enhance passenger safety and crime prevention across railway stations and track zones. (Maxim News)
