Double-Decker Bus Collides with Lorry in Nalgonda, Driver Seriously Injured

Nalgonda/Hyderabad, July 20, 2025 — A major road accident disrupted traffic on the Addanki–Narketpally National Highway on Saturday when a double-decker bus collided with a ready-mix concrete lorry near Yellareddyguda in Nalgonda district.

According to initial reports, the bus driver sustained serious injuries, while several passengers suffered minor injuries during the collision. The impact of the crash caused significant damage to the front of the bus and created chaos on the busy highway.

Emergency Response and Traffic Disruption

The accident led to a massive traffic jam on the route, with vehicles stranded for kilometers in both directions. Local police teams responded promptly to the scene, assisting injured passengers, clearing the wreckage, and regulating the traffic to ease the congestion.

Eyewitnesses reported that the double-decker bus, which was heading towards Hyderabad, was attempting to overtake when it suddenly collided with the slow-moving lorry carrying construction material. The exact cause of the crash is under investigation.

Police Investigation Underway

Authorities have launched an inquiry into the accident, focusing on whether it was a result of driver negligence, speeding, or lack of visibility. The injured bus driver was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital and is currently under medical supervision.
