Internet/Hyderabad, Sept 4 (Maxim News): A cargo ship carrying 23 Indian sailors was attacked by a drone. No one was injured in the incident that took place on Wednesday, September 2. The ship was en route from Russia to Karachi, Pakistan when the attack took place. The cargo ship MV Baryon (IMO 9151412) was en route from Novorossiysk, Russia to Karachi, Pakistan. There were 23 Indian sailors on board at the time.
The ship was attacked by a drone on September 2. The incident caused a fire on the ship. However, the crew was immediately alerted and extinguished the fire. After that, another drone attack took place. It landed near the ship. However, no injuries were reported to the crew on board the ship in these incidents and everyone is safe, said Forward Seamen’s Union of India General Secretary Manoj Yadav. He revealed that the ship continued its journey as usual after the attack. Manoj said that this incident is another example of the lack of safety for commercial ships and crew on board in war-torn areas.
Manoj Yadav expressed his concern that Indian naval personnel play a crucial role in international shipping, but due to recent developments, they are facing serious threats. He said that Indian personnel are being attacked regardless of the conflicts in the region. Since the start of the Iran-US war, Indians have been involved in many attacks on commercial ships. Many have lost their lives. (Maxim News)
