ECI Revises Telangana Electoral Roll Revision Schedule, Final Rolls On November 9

Hyderabad, Sept. 8: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana.

Under the revised schedule, voters and individuals can file claims and objections to the draft electoral rolls until October 7. The earlier deadline was September 16.

The period for the notice and disposal of claims and objections has also been extended until November 5. The final electoral rolls will be published on November 9.

ECI Sets Deadline for New Voter Enrolment

Young people who have turned 18 can apply for enrolment before the final rolls are published. They can submit Form 6 for new voter enrolment along with the prescribed declaration.

Overseas Indian citizens can submit Form 6A for enrolment. Applications can be submitted one week before the final electoral rolls are published on November 9.

The ECI will also accept applications after publication of the final electoral rolls.

According to the latest figures, 2,64,87,213 of Telangana’s 3,38,26,448 electors submitted their enumeration forms.

As many as 73,39,235 electors were categorised under ASDD, covering absent, shifted, dead and duplicate voters.

Among those who submitted enumeration forms, 60,50,918 electors were found to have anomalies. Another 32,36,659 voters could not map themselves with the SIR 2002 list. (Maxim News)
