Five IAS officers sentenced to jail

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has sentenced five IAS officials in the state to prison for unlawfully occupying the property of a lady named Sai Brahma from Tallapaka village in Nellore district. The lady had filed every legal lawsuit against the five members in search of justice, but all of her requests were ignored.

Finally, the AP High Court heard the case and condemned five of these IAS officials to prison, along with fines. The HC had earlier issued notifications to these five police, asking that they pay the lady the appropriate compensation, but the officers ignored the HC’s instructions. As a consequence, the HC charged these members with contempt of court and sentenced them to jail. According to reports, they were sentenced to a month in prison and fined Rs 1,000.
