Hyderabad, May 13: Five year old dies after lift accident in Gachibowli after getting trapped inside an elevator at a women’s hostel on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in a PG hostel at Gowlidoddi. The victim was the daughter of a migrant family from West Bengal. Her parents work as cooks at the hostel.
According to police, the child entered the lift from the ground floor. She was travelling to the fifth floor when the accident occurred.

Officials said the lift stopped briefly at the third floor. During this, the child’s hair got stuck in the lift door. However, the lift moved suddenly before she could react.
As a result, the child suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot. Locals immediately alerted emergency services by calling Dial 100.
Police, fire personnel, and HYDRA teams reached the spot. They retrieved the body after a difficult operation.
Later, the body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem.
Meanwhile, Gachibowli Police Station registered a case. Officials have started an investigation into the incident.
Authorities are examining whether there was any negligence by the hostel management. The probe is ongoing.
The incident has left the family in deep shock. Residents in the area have raised concerns over lift safety in hostels.
