Former MP Madhu Yaski Urges Govt To Consider Hyd Floods As National Disaster

Hyderabad, Oct.24 (Maxim News): Congress Former MP Madhu Yaski Goud urged central and state governments to consider the recent rains in Hyderabad and other parts of state as a national disaster. He said that standing crops spread across thousands of acres of government land had been inundated in the floods and added that several residential colonies in the low lying areas of the state had also been inundated during the rains.

He alleged that the chief minister KCR had ignored the warnings of the weather department of the state about the heavy rains leading to the unprecedented amount of human and economic loss. He said that it was unfortunate that the CM had not ventured out of his camp office Pragati Bhavan despite the natural disaster. He also alleged that the authorities concerned had not done any scientific survey about the number of houses collapsed in the state. Commenting on the issue of extension of the monetary relief to the affected people, he alleged that the financial assistance was being extended to the affected by keeping in view of the upcoming GHMC elections. ’he alleged that the compensation was being only to the workers of the ruling TRS party. He alleged that the state government was diverting the funds it owed to the GHMC to mission Kakatiya schemes to earn commissions. (Maxim News)
