HC Upholds Trial Court Verdict And Given Death Penalty To 5 Convicts In Dilsukhnagar Bomb Blast Case

Hyderabad, April 8 (Maxim News): The Telangana High Court has given a sensational verdict in the Dilsukhnagar Bomb Blast case, which created a sensation across the country. The High Court dismissed the petition filed by the convicts in this case. Moreover, it upheld the trial court’s verdict awarding the death penalty to the convicts involved in this case.

A bench comprising Justice Laxman and Justice Srisudha gave the verdict finalizing the death penalty for all the convicts. Meanwhile, the NIA conducted a lengthy investigation into the case of serial bomb blasts in Dilsukhnagar on February 21, 2013.

On December 13, 2016, the NIA court found the five accused guilty and sentenced them to death. However, the accused challenged the verdict given by the NIA court in the High Court. After a long hearing of about 45 days, the High Court bench reserved the verdict. The verdict was announced today. It was found guilty of conspiracy in the bomb blast. The High Court bench announced the verdict, finalizing the death sentence for these five.

The accused in this case are A2 Asadullah Akhtar (UP), AE Zia ur Rehman (Pakistan), A4 Mohammad Tahseen Akhtar Hassan (Bihar), A5 Mohammad Yasin Bhatkal and A6 Ajaz Shaik Samar Arman (Maharashtra). However, the main accused Riyaz Bhatkal alias Mohammad riyaz is still absconding. Moreover, Indian Mujahideen terrorist Syed Maqbal, who played a key role in the bomb blasts, died in Gandhi Hospital in July last year due to illness. (Maxim News)
