HCA General Body Meeting: TCJAC Tries To Obstruct: Tension Near Uppal Stadium
Hyderabad, July 19 (Maxim News): The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) general body meeting was held at the Uppal Stadium amidst heavy security. Suresh Kumar was elected as the new ombudsman, and KC Bhanu as the Ethics Officer in the meeting held on Saturday morning. Only 173 club secretaries attended the meeting.
The secretaries of the 57 clubs that were previously cancelled for this meeting were prevented from entering after the HCA said that they were not allowed to do so. This created tension. Heavy security was put in place near the Uppal Stadium. Only the secretaries of the cricket clubs with permission are being allowed inside under the leadership of Rachakonda Commissioner Sudeer Babu.
However, while the meeting was going on, members of the Telangana Cricket Joint Action Committee tried to stop it. The 57 clubs that were previously banned were reinstated after Jagan became the president. However, these 57 clubs were suspended by the acting HCA president, Daljit. With this, the staff stopped the 57 club secretaries who came to participate in the AGM from entering the premises.
Members of the Telangana Cricket Joint Action Committee staged a dharna demanding permission from the secretaries of the dissolved clubs. This led to tension near the Uppal Stadium. The police arrested former Telangana Sports Authority Chairman Alipuram Vekateswara Reddy.
Recently, the CID, which stepped into the fray after the Telangana Cricket Association complained about irregularities in the Hyderabad Cricket Association, arrested HCA President Jagan Mohan Rao, Treasurer Srinivas Rao, CEO Sunil Than, Srichakra Cricket Club General Secretary Rajender Yadav, and Srichakra Cricket Club President Kavitha. In this order, the Malkajgiri court has remanded Jaganmohan Rao and the accused for twelve days.
The Telangana Cricket Association has recently filed a complaint with the CID seeking an investigation into the involvement of politicians in this case of irregularities. It is noteworthy that the TCA has mentioned the names of former minister KTR and MLA Kavitha in the complaint filed with the CID. The TCA has alleged that funds coming from the BCCi have been diverted. (Maxim News)
