It has been proposed to acquire 1,358 acres of land in 3 villages for the establishment of pharma villages in Lagacharla, Hakimpet, and Polepalli under the Kodangal constituency of the Vikarabad district. Of these 71.39 acres (government-assigned land) in Polepalli, some in Hakimpet, and 632 acres of land belonging to 580 farmers in Lagacharla village were proposed to be acquired by the government to build pharma villages there.

To this extent, a preliminary notification was issued in August 2024 regarding the lands of Lagacharla and Polepalli. The Vikarabad Collector appointed Tandur RDO as the Land Acquisition Officer on June 28, 2024, to acquire the patta and assigned lands as per the proposals of TGIIC. It is known that when the District Collector and other high officials went to collect the opinions of the people and farmers of Lagacharla village, the agitations there escalated and led to attacks on the Collector and government officials.

CM Revanth Reddy announced that what is being set up there is not a pharma village but an industrial zone. In this context, TGIIC informed the Vikarabad Collector that it has withdrawn the land acquisition for the establishment of pharma villages; instead of Pharma villages, it has submitted land acquisition proposals for a multipurpose industrial park. The District Collector has appointed the Tandur Sub-Collector as a special officer for land acquisition.
