Hussain Sagar Child Rescue | Hyderabad: An alert auto driver rescued a six-year-old girl after her mother allegedly threw her into Hussain Sagar Lake on Thursday.
The girl was rushed to Gandhi Hospital for treatment. Her condition was reported to be stable.
According to Domalguda police, the woman had taken her two daughters to Upper Tank Bund. She allegedly threw her younger daughter into the lake before leaving the spot.
An auto driver witnessed the incident and immediately jumped into the water. He rescued the child and brought her to safety.
The girl had swallowed water and was unconscious when she was rescued. The driver took her to the hospital in his auto.
Police later recorded the child’s statement after she regained consciousness. She reportedly told them that she lived in Hasmathpet near Old Bowenpally.

The girl reportedly suffers from a health condition and had undergone surgery. Her father had left the family, and she has an elder sister.

Police suspect financial difficulties and concerns over the child’s medical treatment may have contributed to the incident. However, investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged act.
Recent reports said police registered an attempted murder case against the mother and took her into custody for questioning. The investigation is continuing.
Authorities are also considering the family’s circumstances and the welfare of both children. The rescued girl remains under medical care.
