Speaking on the occasion, KTR explained the purpose behind the establishment of the Telangana Medical Devices Park. “In our country, 70.8 to 80% of all the medical devices we use are imported from other countries. Why should it be like this? Why can’t these products be made in our country?” This Medical Devices Park was established under the KCR government with the idea. KTR said that it was established with the intention that if the products are produced in our country, the price will also come down and all these will be available to the common man.

He recalled that before the establishment of the park, there was nothing in the Sultanpur area except stone crushers, metal crushers, and some empty space. But now, he said, he was very happy to see thousands of people working here and many industries coming here. He said that he was confident after seeing the research done here and the products introduced.

KTR recalled that during the Covid period, there was a huge demand for RT PCR tests and Covid kits, and in those days, a test kit had to be purchased at a very high cost. But, he praised the fact that Shishir, Rachana and their team from Heuvel had come together to reduce the price of a test that used to cost ₹6,000 to just ₹12. KTR congratulated the Heuvel team for reducing prices and conducting research and programs that benefit the common man through products like the portable RTPCR kit.

KTR said that KCR always tells them that “Research that does not benefit the common man is useless and therefore wasteful.” He reiterated KCR’s message that even if there is technology, if it does not benefit the common man, it is a waste. KTR congratulated the team on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Heuvel organization.
