Responding to his appeal, Telangana Jagruthi President Kalvakuntla Kavitha announced complete support for the bandh. Kavitha asserted that neither the Congress nor the BJP have the moral authority to speak about increasing BC reservations.
She questioned how the BJP, which has kept the BC reservation bills passed by the Telangana Assembly and Council pending for months without approval, can now participate in the bandh. She also criticised the Congress for issuing a meaningless G.O. instead of confronting the Centre after the bills were passed, yet now claiming to lead the bandh.

Both national parties, Kavitha said, repeatedly betrayed the BC community. Telangana Jagruthi, which has consistently been at the forefront of the movement for enhanced BC reservations, extends its whole hearted support to the BC Bandh on October 18 (tomorrow). (Maxim News)
