Hyderabad, May 5: Hyderabad kidnapping case has shocked residents after a six month old baby girl was abducted while sleeping in her mother’s lap. The incident occurred late Sunday night under the limits of Quthbullapur police station.
According to police, the victim’s mother, Navaneetha, was sleeping on the roadside with her four children. They were resting near a marble shop opposite Mallareddy Hospital. Meanwhile, unknown assailants approached the spot during midnight.
Hyderabad kidnapping triggers police probe
While the mother was asleep, the accused quietly took away the six month old baby, identified as Asha. After some time, Navaneetha woke up and noticed the child missing. Immediately, she searched the nearby area. However, she could not trace the infant.
Therefore, she rushed to the police station and lodged a complaint. Based on her statement, police registered a case and began an investigation without delay.
Meanwhile, officers started scanning CCTV footage from nearby cameras. In addition, special teams are working to identify the suspects and track their movement. Police officials said they are examining all possible angles.
Furthermore, police have alerted nearby stations and intensified patrols in surrounding areas. They are also questioning locals and shop owners for any leads.
Residents expressed concern over the incident. They said such crimes create fear, especially among vulnerable families living in open spaces.
Officials assured that efforts are underway to trace the baby at the earliest. They urged citizens to share any information that may help in the investigation.
