The RRR will be constructed north and south of the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR). The National Highways Agency plans to construct unique “dumbbell-shaped” interchanges to connect the north and south sections of the RRR.

The latest changes to the road plan will require additional land acquisition, and authorities have estimated the increased land requirement.

The funding for the northern part of the 158.65 km long road will be allocated under a new government scheme.

Despite delays due to disagreements between the central and state governments, the state government has prioritized the RRR construction. With the assurance of funding release from the central government, the state government has expedited the necessary permissions and land acquisition processes.

The project will require an additional 71.23 hectares of land, bringing the total land acquisition for the RRR construction to 1,879.05 hectares. The road will pass through Sangareddy, Medak, Siddipet, and Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri districts.

Innovative junctions are planned to be built at the north-south connection points. One junction will be constructed in Choutuppal, Bhuvanagiri district, on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada road, and another junction will be built in Sangareddy district on the Hyderabad-Mumbai route. (Maxim News)
