The India Story Faces Objections Over Farm Depiction

According to the notice, the film’s teaser and promotional material allegedly contain misleading and unverified claims about Indian agriculture, dairy farming and poultry production.

The complainant argued that the film presents India’s agricultural ecosystem as a source of “slow poison” by highlighting pesticide use, food adulteration and rising cancer cases. He claimed such depictions could harm the reputation of farmers, dairy producers, poultry businesses and agro input suppliers across the country.

The notice further stated that the film allegedly suggests excessive pesticide use in India. However, the complainant maintained that pesticide consumption per hectare in India remains lower than in several other countries.

So far, the filmmakers have not publicly responded to the allegations.

The India Story: Slow Poison In Progress is scheduled for release on July 24, 2026.
