Hyderabad, Aug 11 (Maxim News): Hyderabad Traffic Police will introduce a one way traffic system around KBR Park from August 18, 2026. The move aims to reduce congestion caused by ongoing H CITY construction works.
The new traffic system will cover the KBR Park corridor. Construction crews are building flyovers and underpasses under the H CITI project. As a result, road space has reduced along parts of the existing carriageway.
Meanwhile, traffic volumes remain high across the corridor. Allowing vehicles to move in both directions on the available road space could cause delays and traffic conflicts. Therefore, police have planned one way movement to improve traffic flow and commuter safety.
KBR Park One Way Traffic System Follows Two Trials
The Hyderabad Traffic Police conducted two pilot trials before introducing the KBR Park One Way Traffic System. The first trial took place on April 5 and continued for about three hours. The second trial took place on June 21 and continued for about six hours.
During both trials, officials studied traffic flow and junction performance. They also monitored lane discipline, congestion points and commuter movement. Based on these observations, officials made changes to the proposed traffic plan.
The revised system will come into force from August 18. Police will install lane markings and directional signs at key points. They will also deploy traffic personnel around the corridor on a 24 hour basis.
In addition, navigation services will receive route updates to help commuters plan their journeys. Police will monitor traffic through the Integrated Command and Control Centre and CCTV network. They will also use drones at suitable locations to assess traffic conditions in real time.
Commuters should plan journeys in advance and follow lane markings and traffic signs. They must also follow instructions from traffic personnel. Emergency vehicles will receive an unobstructed passage through Lane II with police assistance.
KBR Park visitors and walkers should use only designated parking areas. They should also follow the revised traffic flow during morning and evening peak hours.
Police have warned motorists against wrong side driving at all times. They have also asked motorists not to park on bends or in ways that block traffic and emergency movement.
The department has urged citizens to rely only on official traffic updates. It has also advised people not to share unverified information from unofficial social media groups.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police said it will review traffic conditions continuously after implementation. Officials will make field level changes when required. The department has sought public cooperation to ensure smoother and safer movement around KBR Park. (Maxim News)
