According to available information, an unidentified person stole a gas cylinder from a delivery auto parked in the locality on Thursday afternoon. The LPG cylinder theft took place when the auto driver had briefly stepped away to deliver a refill to an apartment in the colony.

Meanwhile, CCTV footage shows two unidentified youths arriving on a scooter and approaching the parked delivery auto. They reportedly noticed that the vehicle was unattended. Within seconds, one of them lifted a gas cylinder from the auto. Both then fled the scene quickly on the scooter.

The viral video has drawn wide attention across the city. Residents expressed concern over safety and security in residential areas. The incident has also gained traction due to the timing, as rumours of shortages of petrol, diesel, and LPG cylinders have been circulating.

Moreover, many residents across the city have been seen queuing at fuel stations and gas agencies. These queues are reportedly linked to unverified rumours about fuel scarcity. Therefore, the LPG cylinder theft has added to public anxiety during this period.
