The incident took place at Jaya Krishna Enclave in Hasthinapuram. Police said the woman and her son allegedly consumed an unknown poison. Later, both were found unresponsive inside the house. The case has been registered as a suspected family dispute, based on preliminary findings at the scene.

Sushmitha, aged 27, wife of Yashwanth Reddy, is believed to have first given poison to her 10 year old son, Yashwanth Nanda Reddy. After that, she allegedly consumed the poison herself. The child also succumbed, police said. The sequence of events is part of the initial assessment, and officers are still verifying all details.

The Meerpet police confirmed that the investigation will continue until all facts are clearly established. They added that more details would be known after the autopsy reports and further questioning.
