Military College of EME Accredited With Grade ‘A’ by NAAC

Secunderabad, 10 Nov (Maxim News): Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), Secunderabad which is one of the most prestigious technical training institutions of the Indian Army, has added yet another feather in its cap wherein the College has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ grade.

NAAC is an autonomous accreditation body established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to assess and accredit institutions of higher education in the country on the basis of quality of education, teaching-learning processes, research and innovation, Faculty and Staff infrastructure and the institutional environment, with an overall objective of promoting quality higher education in the country.

NAAC assessment encompasses evaluation of all facets of training based on seven stringent criteria as laid down in NAAC guidelines.

MCEME had registered for NAAC accreditation in 2020 and had qualified in the rigorous online assessment based on its self-study report.

The NAAC Peer Team which visited MCEME for onsite verification in Sep 2021 was led by Dr Animesh Biswas, Director, NIT, Rourkela and had other eminent academicians like Dr Arshad Noor Siddiquee, Professor of Jamia Millia Islamia University and Dr Rama Krishna Konijeti, Dean Koneru Laksmaiah, Education Foundation, Vijayawada as its members.

Lieutenant General TSA Narayanan, AVSM, Commandant MCEME & Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME briefed the Peer Team on the various activities at the College including some of the best practices and path breaking initiatives adopted by MCEME.

The NAAC Peer Team visited the different Faculties at MCEME, the training labs, administrative infrastructure and other facilities. After a detailed inspection of all relevant documentation, the NAAC Peer Team also interacted with the students, Faculty, teaching staff and administrative personnel of MCEME.

Consequent to the stringent inspection by the Peer Team, MCEME was accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ Grade, which is a rare and creditable accomplishment for an academic institution in the country, especially in the very first cycle of accreditation.

MCEME was also recently awarded the ‘Utkrishth Sansthan Vishwakarma Award’ by AICTE for ‘Maximum impact created against the spread of COVID-19’ across India and the ‘New Code of Education’ award in recognition of the innovations carried out in impacting training during the pandemic in building and enabling best digital practices in the field of education.
