Min Prashanth Reddy Meets Gadkari On NH Development

Hyderabad, Oct.14 (Maxim News): Telangana Government has agreed to use technology based facilities at toll plazas in the state. This was informed by roads and buildings minister V Prashanth Reddy in Delhi after meeting with Union surface transport minister Nitin Gadkari.

He said that Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao gas agreed the centre’s proposal to share 50 percent funds to upgrade to electronic toll collection from the traditional one in the state.

The minister submitted a wishlist and appealed to Gadkari to release funds and additional allocations to develop 709 km roads in the state.

He also asked Gadkari for steps to overcome accidents, bharatmala scheme, upgradation of seven new roads as national highways and use of technology, geo metrics and fastags at the toll- plazas.

The centre plans to upgrade all toll plazas with new technology and asked the state share 50 percent funds of Rs 20 lakh for each lane he said. The state government agreed to the central proposals and sought its cooperation for development of national highways in Telangana, he added. (Maxim News)
