Raising the issue in the Legislative Council, Kavitha expressed concerns over the Congress party’s failure to honor its pre-election promises regarding minority welfare in Telangana. In its Minority Declaration document, Congress had made several key commitments, including:₹10,000 crore for the Minority Sub-Plan.

She also questioned whether the promise of increasing the pension to the Imams and Mouzans to Rs. 10 thousand has not been implemented, under Shaadi Mubarak Congress promised to increase it to Rs. 1.6 lakh and 10 grams of gold for the marriage of girls from minority communities have not been implemented. She said that there is no representation of the Minorities in the Cabinet, and she said that if no Minority candidate had won on the Congress ticket, she said that BRS have no objection if Amer Ali Khan is made the Minister for Minority Welfare.
