Noida Building Fire Leaves Two Dead After Electric Scooter Blaze

Noida / Hyderabad, July 15 (Maxim News): A Noida building fire triggered by an electric scooter claimed at least two lives and left several others injured after flames rapidly engulfed a four storey residential building in Uttar Pradesh’s Mamura village on Wednesday.
Rescue teams launched a large-scale operation to evacuate residents trapped inside the building.
According to initial reports, the fire broke out after an electric scooter caught fire, reportedly due to a suspected short circuit. The flames quickly spread through the building, filling it with thick black smoke and leaving residents stranded on the upper floors.

Noida Building Fire Sparks Massive Rescue Operation

Witnesses said around 50 people were trapped inside the building as the fire intensified. Since the main exit was blocked by flames, local residents acted swiftly by placing ladders and wooden planks between the affected building and an adjacent structure, allowing several occupants to escape.
The rescue operation continued as firefighters and emergency response teams reached the scene soon after receiving information about the incident. Fire personnel worked to control the blaze while rescue teams evacuated those still trapped inside.
Officials confirmed that two people lost their lives, while several others sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities are yet to release the identities of the victims.
Preliminary findings suggest that a short circuit in the electric scooter may have triggered the fire. However, officials said the exact cause will be determined after a detailed investigation by the fire department and local authorities.
The Noida building fire has once again highlighted concerns over fire safety measures in densely populated residential buildings. Authorities are expected to examine whether the building complied with fire safety norms and whether adequate emergency exits and firefighting equipment were available.
The administration has urged residents to remain cautious while charging electric vehicles and to report electrical faults immediately. Further updates are expected as rescue operations conclude and investigators assess the extent of the damage. (Maxim News)
