Hyderabad, Dec 12 (Maxim News): The first phase of panchayat elections in several districts across the state has been successfully concluded. The results are being announced. Elections were held for a total of 3,834 sarpanch and 27,628 ward member posts. However, the details of the polling percentages recorded by districts are as follows. Khammam: 86.95, Sangareddy: 84.71, Peddapalli: 82.27, Bhupalapally: 82.26, Nalgonda: 81.63, Hanumakonda: 81.39, Rajanna Sircilla: 78.58, Jangaon: 78.57, Asifabad: 77.07 percent polling was recorded, election officials said.
In the first phase of Telangana Gram Panchayat elections, 568 Sarpanch candidates supported by the Congress party have won so far. 190 candidates supported by BRS have won. 28 candidates from BJP and 81 others have won as Sarpanchs. Counting is still ongoing in many villages.
The results of the Telangana Panchayat elections were tied in many places. With this, the authorities decided to select the Sarpanch candidate through a lucky draw. To this extent, two candidates got equal votes for ward 4 in Chinnametpally, Korutla mandal, Jagtial district. With this, Velamala Tirupati won the toss. Similarly, in Lakshmakapalli village, Rajapet mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, the votes were equal for the Sarpanch candidates supported by BRS and Congress. BRS supported candidate Indla Rajaiah got 148 votes, while Congress supported candidate Vemula Surender Reddy also got 148 votes. With this, the authorities decided to draw a lucky draw and BRS candidate Indla Rajaiah won. BRS leaders expressed joy.
The BJP party has won the first phase of the Telangana Sarpanch elections. The BJP has won in Kamalapur mandal of Karimnagar district. Sarpanch candidate Ryakam Srinivas, supported by Bandi Sanjay, won with 90 votes. Ryakam Srinivas is currently the Kamalapur BJP mandal president. Here, Etala Rajender fielded another candidate (Ryakam Sampath) and was defeated. It is noteworthy that BRS and Congress candidates are limited to three and four seats in Upparapalli. In Rasulpura, Bhimadevarapalli mandal, BJP-supported candidate Mahesh won.
A total of 81.2% polling was recorded in the combined Warangal district. Mulugu district recorded 73.57%, Hanumakonda district recorded 81.39%, Jangaon district recorded 78.57%, Mahabubabad and Bhupalpally districts recorded 82.26% voting. In the first phase, elections were held for 3,834 sarpanch and 27,628 ward member posts. Voters exercised their right to vote in 37,562 polling stations. After the announcement of the sarpanch election results, meetings are being held with the ward members and the sub-sarpanch elections are being held. (Maxim News)
