Kolkata/Hyderabad, June 21 (Maxim News): The 12th International Yoga Day has begun across the world. This year, International Yoga Day-2026 is being celebrated with the theme ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’. In this context, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a program organized at the famous Red Road in Kolkata, West Bengal. On this occasion, he extended his greetings to the people of the country on the occasion of Yoga Day.
Later, Prime Minister Modi said, ‘Yoga seems to have connected the entire country and the world. Yoga connects and unites everyone. It is very special that I am in Bengal today. Swami Vivekananda introduced yoga to the whole world from this holy land of Bengal, where saints like Ramakrishna Paramahamsa were born. Yogis like Lahiri Mahasaya have taken this tradition to new heights. Doing yoga collectively on such land gives a special spiritual experience. We can work to ensure that age does not reduce human potential. Yoga helps in that. It helps in the continuous development of human life.
“Our goal should be to be healthier at 40 than we were at 20. Our goal should be to be stronger at 50 than we were at 30. Yoga helps in making our bodies strong. It also helps in leading a peaceful, stress-free life. Everyone should practice yoga regularly. The more we know about ourselves, the better we can manage ourselves,” he said. (Maxim News)
