Rs 6 Cr For New Bus Stand In Siddipet: Harish Rao

Hyderabad, April 9 (Maxim News): Finance Minister T Harish Rao today said that a modern Bus Stand will be Constructed at Siddipet town to improve transportation facilities in the district. The minister laid a foundation stone for the new bus station to be built in about one year. It was estimated to cost about Rs 6 crore for the new bus station with all facilities as the population has grown manifold.

The government has planned to spend Rs 6 crore for this new bus station with all facilities the minister said. The existing bus station was built when Chokka Rao was the transport minister, Harish Rao said. Now that the population grown by 10 times and the transportation is needed to be improved, he felt.

The minister said that to cater to the future needs of people in the district the new bus stand will be constructed. About 25000 to 30000 people take buses from this area and the new facility will be

advantageous he said. The road widening will help citizens of Haripriya Nagar, Srinagar Colony, RTO Camp office and Tehsildar office to reduce their travel time and also decongest the existing traffic. He instructed the officials to complete the works in a short span, besides creating a temporary facility to stop the buses until the works of the bus station are completed.

He instructed the RTC officials to coordinate for the speedy completion of the new bus stand. He also participated in some development programs to lay a new express road and repair of old one to pave way for easy movement by people.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson Roja Sharma, Municipal Chairman K Rajanarsu, SUDA Chairman Ravindar Reddy, Regional Manager TSRTC Rajashekhar, Chief Advisor to RTC Rambabu, Depot Manager Rammohan Reddy and others were present. (Maxim News)
